I 've suffered from back problems for several years and whenever I've tried to get fit I've ended up over doing it and setting myself back. I wasn't sure I needed a personal trainer but thought I should at least give it a go rather than remain in a rut. My main concern was feeling pressure to push myself through pain and end up causing myself further injury. I needn't have worried as one of the best things about Tom is his ability to listen and adapt training to suit an individual's needs. Tom started me on a course mixing core strength with cardio which was a great balance. I'd feel like I'd had a work out but never felt as though I'd pushed it too far. If there was ever a niggle or something I felt uncomfortable with, Tom would tweak the program slightly to make sure I kept up my confidence and got the full benefit of the session. Another big plus was the way Tom mixed up training so that things didn't get boring and would gently ramp things up, almost without you knowing so that you'd actually achieve more that you first realise. It's been a pleasure working with Tom and both my strength and all round fitness has come on a long way. I still get back pain from time to time but usually if I've missed a session or have forgotten simple things like good posture. Tom has given me the confidence to train and I'm looking forward to playing sport this summer without the fear of causing any added injury.

I'd got to the stage of no return. Stamina, strength and balance all in big decline and I was heading towards 60. First I gave up smoking which meant I put on weight, I then fractured
my tibia at the knee so thing could not of got any worse. I knew just joining a gym would not be the answer - I'd feel self-conscious and after a couple of visits I'd give up. My niece put
me on to Tom and because of him I have now been exercising for thelast 6 months.

Tom varies the exercises a lot which means I don't get bored and he pushes one just the right amount. It also good to know you are not wasting your time doing the exercises incorrectly and are less likely to do yourself an injury. Strength, balance and stamina have improved and the body is looking more toned which other people have noticed - so much so, that some on
my sisters have even started to think that exercising may not be such a bad thing after all !
Therefore anyone out there thinking they have left it too late the answer is no. Just get in touch with Tom and start training.

Before I started working out with Tom I had been member of my gym for years but never found the right routine or ambition to get really fit. Tom took time to analyze my strength and weaknesses and tailored a program to me that was fun and challenging. Each session was different without losing focus of the overall goal. After a couple of weeks he suggested to partake in a triathlon. I would have never thought I could get up to speed in time but Tom's training plan gave me the needed strength and endurance to compete. It was an amazing event. I wish to pay tribute to Tom Robinson of Robinson Fitness ltd , because prior to me training with Tom, I had not worked out for as the best part of 11 years and had given up completely on ever achieving my personal fitness goals. I have been going to the gym 3/4 times a week for years, although it kept my weight down, I never really saw the results I wanted. I sort of accepted that maybe it wasn't possible to change the shape of my body. I wasn't sure any exercise regime would work for me however after combining some of my usual workouts with a couple of sessions a week with Tom; I began to see a change in my body shape, after just a few weeks! And I was enjoying the workouts!

My sessions with Tom have been fantastic. I thought I'd find a personal trainer awkward and a bit daunting - but it wasn't like that at all.  I've gone from feeling unfit and frumpy to being fitter, stronger and more healthy than ever before - not bad for a woman in her forties!  Even at the start when I was really unfit, Tom put me at ease and created sessions that were challenging and fun without being stressful or too difficult - so I always felt as though I was doing well.  I can't believe how much of a difference it's made in such a short length of time.
